Information on Forklift Training

forklift trucks?

i passed my basic training for forklift truck(counter balance)on 2002 and ive never used it,i know i would need a refresher course.but do i also need a cpcs ticket, also can i drive any other trucks like telehandlers

Usually if you take a course it is for a specific truck.
Myself it was for a Class 3 Lift truck.

We have a Powerjack aswell (might be your telehandlers) And I had to get a seperate licence for that.

IF the other machine you are going to use is considered a (what is on your licence) Ex, Class 3 lift truck you can use it.

Beware If you only have a licence for one specific truck and you drive another, and someone gets hurt you are responsible.
Also if your employer tells you to drive it and asks do you have a licence and you reply yes without showing or stating it's the wrong truck you are responsible,
Also You can not get fired for refusing to drive a machine you have no licence for. I've done it myself but it is risky.

Lastly, Carry your licence on you at all times. If a security gaurd/plant manager etc asks you to produce it and you dont have it you can be asked/forced off of the machine and to leave it where it is in park until you get your licence on you or someone with a licence moves it.

I threw those in there for anyone reading and just incase you didnt know.

and for the cpcs ticket, I would check with employers or the board of labour to find out what is required now adays. As laws change things are needed more and more. Double check with them.
