Will u be able to make payments or do u have to pay all at once? A friend was fined because he didnt have his employees properly trained by a specialized trainer and because the scafolds were not built right which was corrected while the inspector was there but still the fine ended being up to 4000 dollars!! please help me i want to know from all of yalls experience and whats the best thing to do?? Also the citation says to? please help he only has a couple more days to write the letter. He is gonna call but for now i would like to know what you guys know that should be done? He just got the citation and the job that was inspected has already been finished.
He may be able to negotiate the fine downwards if he can show proof he is taking the proper steps to comply in the future..

The best bet is always ask to have the citation re-classified (De-Minimus). This will reduce the fine amount, some re-classifications have no fines assessment. Let us say that your friend had this citation and paid the fine and then a similar accident caused a fatality, with out having this re-classed then this fine could be discovered in a court of law and open up more liability.
Of note the inspector that completed the audit of the workplace DID NOT write the citation, it was his Superior that wrote the actual citation.
